edelkrone SliderPLUS v5 PRO LongThe edelkrone SliderPLUS v5 PRO Long is designed with movable rails that travel during a slide to give you extra travel distance while keeping the slider compact. When used on the ground or other surface, it has a travel length of 1.3′ and supports up to 40 lb. Mounted on a tripod, it provides a travel length of 2.6′ with up to 20 lb loads supported, meaning you can work with heavy camera rigs. The movable design also works for dolly shots, because since the rails move along with the carriage, they won’t get in the shot when you dolly in and out.
The SliderPLUS v5 PRO Long is a manual ball bearing slider, but it supports the optional Slide Module v3 attachment for motion control, and other edelkrone motorized add-ons can be incorporated for fully synchronized multi-axis motion control operated via a single iOS/Android app. When paired with the Slide Module v3, the SliderPLUS v5 PRO Long can be mounted on a tripod at an incline of up to 22.5° with up to 5.5 lb loads.
The slider carriage features a retractable 3/8″-16 mounting screw so it doesn’t scratch up your bag or anything else during transport. On the bottom, the slider offers a 3/8″-16 thread for more robust tripod mounting. For tripod-mounted use, edelkrone suggests that the space between the tripod legs be 47″ or more.
Other features include lockable fold-out legs, an instant-lock button on the slider carriage so you can safely move the slider from place to place, and magnetic belt clips. The belt clips of the included belts simply push in onto the slider carriage for efficient use.
The SliderPLUS v5 PRO Long is made of aluminum and stainless steel components, steel ball bearings, and temperature-treated aluminum rods. Some of the parts are made from a single block of aluminum to ensure a longer life span.

The adapter mounts to the lens and is removable, so you can use one adapter on many different PL mounted lenses.
The adapter maintains the correct flange focal distance, and this means that you don’t have to worry about your lenses’ focus shifting due to the adapter; infinity is maintained. Featuring brass construction with a stainless steel finish, this adapter is a strong, durable unit. A built-in tripod support foot features a 1/4″-20 threaded mounting hole so you can attach a tripod or monopod to the adapter, limiting the amount of stress you put on the camera’s mount. There is no electronic control of the lens through the adapter, so you need to use a lens that has manual focus and iris capabilities. However, the adapter allows TTL (Through-the-Lens) metering, and when using a lens with the adapter, the camera body should be set to either manual exposure or aperture priority mode.

In addition to speed and AF, the processing improvements also help to realize greater image clarity and reduced noise throughout the sensitivity range from ISO 100-51200, which can further be expanded to ISO 50-204800. Video recording capabilities have also been extended for enhanced quality when recording UHD 4K video with the full width of the full-frame sensor to minimize moiré and aliasing. Additionally, benefitting both stills and video operation, the a7 III utilizes a 5-axis SteadyShot INSIDE sensor-shift image stabilization, which is now effective to minimize the appearance of camera shake by up to 5 stops.
Beyond just updates to the imaging system, the a7 III’s body design has also been revised to include a rear 3.0″ 922k-dot touchscreen LCD, which has a tilting design to better support working from high and low angles. A 2.36m-dot Tru-Finder OLED EVF is also featured for bright and clear eye-level monitoring. For greater shooting flexibility, dual SD memory card slots are now featured, and a larger NP-FZ100 battery is also employed to achieve up to approximately 710 shots per charge. Suiting the camera’s use in trying conditions, the magnesium-alloy chassis and weather-sealing also render the a7 III dust- and moisture-resistant.
